David J. "Dee" Phillips, 67, of Owensboro died Monday, Jan. 16, 1995, at his home after a long illness. He was born in Owensboro, was a 1945 graduate of St. Frances Academy in Owensboro, retired as an agent for American National Insurance Co., and was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and AMVETS. His wife, Barbara Ann Phillips, died March 28, 1990.
Survivors include a son, Brian Scott Phillips of Owensboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Deanne C. and Greg Jenkins of Lexington; and three grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany and Nicole Jenkins, all of Lexington. Services are at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Stephen Cathedral. Entombment in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. today at James H. Davis Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 6 p.m. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Hospice Association, P.O. Box 1403, Owensboro, Ky. 42302.
