- On Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at 8:30 a.m., Hazel Marie Fink Manning went home to be with our Lord and to sing in the Heavenly Choir. Born Oct. 25, 1926, at Glen White, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie L. and Lakie Ethel Riffe Fink. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Gunther McVey; and two brothers, Garner W. and Glenn Fink. Survivors include: husband, Howard K. "Sarge" Manning of Crab Orchard; three sons, Kenneth Lee Manning and his wife, Carolyn, of Sophia, Billy Joe Manning and his wife, Debby, of Crab Orchard, and Dan Manning and his wife, Jan, of Ellicott City, Md.; two daughters, Sherry Smith and her husband, Bruce, of Jackson-ville, N.C., and Susie Fritz and her husband, Bill, of Beckley; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several beloved brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be at her church, Crab Orchard Baptist Church, at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2001, with the Rev. Phillip Shields, the Rev. David Trump ll and the Rev. Bill Withers officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Crab Orchard Baptist Church, and at the church one hour before the service Saturday. Pallbearers will be Berman Cornett, Ray Looney, Joe Roebuck, Calvin Fitzpatrick, Mark Riffe and Tim Rector. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Yates and Don Farley. Arrangements by Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley.
