Monroe E. Coffman, 85, a resident of Leesburg, formerly of Lovettsville, died Jan. 23 at Loudoun Memorial Hospital Center in Leesburg. He was born Oct. 26, 1910 in Lovettsville, a son of the late Charles M. and Sara Ann Connor Coffman. During his working life, he was employed as a welder at Lupton's Farm Service in Purcellville; as the head foreman at Hill High Orchard in Round Hill from 1948 to 1953; and finally for 13 years as a welder at Cornwell's Slaughter House in Purcellville. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene R. Coffman; a brother, William J. Coffman; and three sisters, Blanche Mansfield, Lelia Shoemaker and Margaret Riley. Interment was in the Mt. Olivet Methodist Cemetery, Lovettsville.
