    Raymond was born June 13, 1891 in Shenandoah Junction, West Virginia to Lewis Joseph and Minnie Bell Riley Virts. He died on February 29, 1956 in Jefferson County, West Virginia. He married Naomi Temple Crawford on July 17, 1917. She was born March 12, 1888 in Frederick County, Maryland. She died June 15, 1977 in Charles Town, West Virginia. Both are buried in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town, West Virginia.

      Mrs. Temple Naomi Virts, widow of Raymond L. Virts, died this morning at Knott's Rest Home. Born in Frederick County, Md., she was the daughter of the late Jake H. and Ella Daisy Hood Crawford. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Mary Mays) Ritter, Charles Town; one granddaughter, Mrs. Robert (Mary Hood Mays) Via, Charles Town; two step grandchildren, Mrs. Samuel Harris, Sweet Water, Tenn., and David Ritter, Leesburg, Va., one brother, Alvin Hood Crawford, Frederick, Md. Interment was in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town.
