George W. Virts, 87, died August 23 in the home of his son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. James Nelson, near Lovettsville. His parents were the late Joseph and Sarah Long Virts. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Levia Roller Virts, two daughters, Mrs. James Nelson and Mrs. Pauline Green, both of Lovettsville, two sons, Lloyd of Lovettsville and Roy of Frederick, Md., 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Funeral service were held Tuesday at Mt. Olivet Methodist church with the Rev. Lewis Yates officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery nearby. The pallbearers were Maryland Frye, Alvin Fleming, John Fleming, George Mentzer, Ralph Cooper and George Wenner.
