Claude Hartman Jr., 73, of Salisbury, Maryland, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of the late Marianne (Brown) Hartman of 38 years.
Born on September 25, 1943 in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of the late Claude Sr. and Barbara June (Loy) Hartman. Claude was a 1961 graduate of Frederick High School and later joined the United States Navy. Claude served overseas during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion, Brunswick for more than 50 years. Claude enjoyed playing baseball in his youth, and throughout his life enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. He worked for Montgomery County Public Schools as an electronics technician and supervisor for more than 30 years before his retirement.
Claude is survived by his two children, William Hartman and wife Julie, and Dawn Hartman and Bill; one brother, Ronald L. Hartman; and granddaughter, Barbara June "Junie" Hartman.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8pm on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The funeral service will be held 11am on Wednesday, May 17th at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Saint Pauls Cemetery, Point of Rocks.
