Both are buried in St. James Reformed Cemetery in Lovettsville, Virginia.

Lela Corinne Virts, 74, widow of Elbert J. Virts, died Nov. 16 at her home in Lovettsville. She was born in the Lovettsville area, a daughter of the late Thomas and Florence Troeter Smith. Surviving are three sons, Berkley of Purcellville, Leon of Silver Spring, Md. and Aubrey Lee of Hamilton. Three sisters, Mrs. Flossie Ridgeway and Mrs. Kinnie Boger, both of Lovettsville and Mrs. Katie Smith of Arlington, and two brothers, Willard Smith of Frederick, Md. and Raymond Smith of Lovettsville. Interment was in the Reformed Cemetery, Lovettsville.
