Catherine Marie Hackley, 89, of Sandy Hook, MD, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born on March 21, 1922 in LeGore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry Jacob Ashbaugh and Alice Marie Benges Ashbaugh.
She was a member of Sandy Hook United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Gloria Mae Bartlett of Sandy Hook; three sons, Charles Hackley, Jr. and wife, Marlene of Sandy Hook, Robert Hackley and wife, Catherine of Reisterstown, MD, and Kenneth Hackley and wife, Lois of Middletown, MD; two sisters, Shirley Taylor of Ravenna, OH, and Nancy Raines of Baltimore; one brother, Leo Ashbaugh of Harpers Ferry; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Charles Hackley in 1995, seven sisters, two brothers and three grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, US 340 at Halltown Road, Charles Town/Harpers Ferry, with the Rev. Douglas Fraim officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery at Loudoun Heights, VA.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Hackley, Justin Shackelford, Stanley Butts, Jeremy Whetzel, Mike Whetzel and Robert Hackley.
