      Elmer "Junior" Charles Hackley, Jr., 76, of Sandy Hook Road, Knoxville, MD passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at his residence.

      Born November 15, 1940 in Loudoun Heights, VA, he was the son of the late Elmer Charles Hackley, Sr. and Catherine Marie Ashbaugh Hackley.

      He was a member of Sandy Hook United Methodist Church. He was a driver for UPS.

      Junior fought his battle with grace, dignity and optimism. Now he is resting in the arms of Jesus.

      He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marlene Hackley, at home; two daughters, Annette Cooper and husband, Mike of Knoxville and Cheryl Gallo and husband, Matt of Baltimore, MD; four grandchildren, Justin Shackelford and wife, Heather; Caitlin Ogg and husband, Devin, Chandra Gallo and Kimberlyn Gallo; six great-grandchildren, Ayden, Addison, Ashlynn, Jace, Holden and Payton; one sister, Gloria Bartlett, two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Hackley and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

      He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Lacey Shackelford.

      Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Pastors Doug Fraim and Toni Dufficy officiating. Interment will be in Brownsville Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Brownsville, MD.

      The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm.
