BRADENTON, Floria '97 Margaret Lewis Beman, 93, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at the Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida.
After living at the Heritage Park Nursing Home for 9 years in Bradenton, Margaret passed very peacefully and quietly.
Margaret was born Jan. 16, 1924. She was the second of four daughters born to Virgil and Edith (Werts) Lewis who lived in rural Russell, Iowa. She graduated from Russell, Iowa, High School in 1942.
On Sept. 17, 1950, she was married to Estey Gerald Beman (Jerry). While they were living in Marshalltown, Iowa, in 1952, their daughter, Jana Sue was born. Margaret and Jerry later moved to Mason City, Iowa, where Jerry was Vice President of
Sales for Mason City Millworks Co. Both Margaret and Jerry were active in community functions, the Methodist Church and the Country Club. In 1995, they retired and moved to Bradenton, Florida.
Margaret is survived by her Son-in-law, Scott Komoto, San Anselmo, California, two sisters, Louise Thacker, Aurora, Colorado, and Wanda (Richard) Risbeck, Chariton, Iowa, two nieces, and five nephews.
Margaret was preceeded in death by her husband, Jerry in 2002 and daughter, Jana Sue Komoto in 2013, a sister, Helen Carl and two nephews, Jim Carl and Mark Mugleston.
At Margaret's request there were no services held and she will be put to rest with Jerry in the Bay Pine National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida.
