- Lloyd Reno LaRue, age 98, of Chariton went home to be with his Lord Friday, March 30, 2007 at Chariton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born April 16, 1908 in Lucas County to Harry Cooper (H.C.) LaRue and Sarah Estell (Stella) Campbell LaRue. He attended Highland School east of Chariton through eighth grade and graduated from Chariton High School in 1929.

Lloyd accepted Christ as his personal Savior when he was 30. He was always anxious to share his faith with any who would listen.
Lloyd was a farmer all his life. He and Ruth farmed east of Chariton on the shores of Lake Ellis until he was 92 years of age at which time they moved to Southgate apartments. In March of 2005 they made the move to the Chariton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Lloyd is survived by his daughters, Eileen (Louis) Day of Lomax, Illinois and Darlene (Robert) Bowers of Chariton, Iowa, 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife Ruth; his parents, his brother Lee LaRue, sister Mabel Schreck, and twin brothers who died in infancy, plus nephews Darrell Werts and Carl Schreck.
