      Lucille Boone Benedict, 98, of 1981 Mont Alto Road, Chambersburg, died on Monday, October 22, 2012, at the home of her son.

      Born on November 30, 1913, in Rocky Mount, Va., she was a daughter of the late Henry and Alice Brubaker Boone.

      Lucille was a member of the Falling Spring Old German Baptist Brethren Church. On February 20, 1940, she was united in marriage to Abram B. Benedict who preceded her in death on April 30, 2009.

      To this union was born three children; Roger B. (Ruth Emma) Benedict of Chambersburg, Zelda (John) Knaus of Knob Noster, Mo., and Betty (John) Long of Pendleton, Ind.

      In addition to her children she is survived by one brother, Clarence (Nora) Boone of Rocky Mount, VA;

      three sisters, Irene Hess of Shady Grove, Doris Ann Shively (Lester) of Rocky Mount, Va., and Alice "Doley" Lesher of Chambersburg; two brothers-in-law, Paul Benedict of Chambersburg, and Guy Lynch of Rocky Mount, Va.; three sisters in law, Caroline Boone of Chambersburg, Jane Boone and Julia Benedict, both of Waynesboro;
      22 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

      In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Glenn, Harold, David, Daniel, Russell, and infant Henry Boone; three sisters, Edith Reece, Gladys Gipe, and Virginia Dare Lynch; ten brothers in law, David Hess, Andrew Gipe, John Lesher, Richard Reese, Ernest Wray, Glen Benedict, Harry Benedict, Jesse Benedict, Fred Benedict, and Joe Benedict; eleven sisters in law; Virginia Boone, Mary Boone, Opal Boone Wray, Peggy Lynch, Elizabeth Caufman, infant Hazel Benedict, Grace Benedict, Pearl Benedict, Mary Catherine Benedict, Rhoda Benedict, and Evelyn Benedict.

      Her funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, October 26, 2012, at the Old German Baptist Brethren Meeting House on Spring Road in Chambersburg. The Home Brethren will preside. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewing will be at the meeting house on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.
