    • Blue Ridge Herald, March 13, 1941

      Oscar Virts, aged 63 years, a native of Waterford who had made his home in Cumberland, Md., for a number of years, died in a hospital in that city on Saturday, March 8. He was a sheet metal contractor. He was a son of the late Charles and Tacy Myers Virts of Waterford. Besides his wife, Mrs. Josephine Lytle Virts, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Carrie Virts Furr of Waterford. Funeral services were held from Slack's funeral home in Leesburg, Tuesday, March 11 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. R. H. K. Gill officiating. The pallbearers were Minor James, Maurice Hough, Arthur Hawes, W. H. Kent, Archie Newton and Clifton Russell. Interment was in Leesburg Cemetery.
