  News-Sentinel, The (Fort Wayne, IN) - Thursday, July 25, 2002 Deceased Name: Chad "Nick" Barfell Fort Wayne - 1973-2002 Chad "Nick" Barfell, 28, of Fort Wayne, whose hobbies were basketball and bowling, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at Parkview Hospital. "He was a wonderful father." The Fort Wayne native worked for McCammon Painting Contractors. Surviving are a son, Brandon of New Haven; a daughter, Courtney Barfell of New Haven; his father, George B. of Fort Wayne; his mother, Deborah Hamilton of LaOtto; his stepfather, Skip Hamilton of LaOtto; his stepmother, Linda Barfell of Fort Wayne; his companion, Deanne Keener of New Haven; a brother, James of Fort Wayne; stepbrothers Tony Raffiee and Joe Yovanovitch; a sister, Stacey Dunfee of New Haven; a stepsister, Michelle Gentry; and grandparents Opal Barfell and James M. Snodgrass, both of Fort Wayne. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 S. Fairfield Ave., with calling from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
