Mrs. Elizabeth Carmichael Smith, wife of Rev. W. D. Smith, of Winchester, formerly rector of St. Geroge Church, of this city, died at her home in Winchester Tuesday after a protracted illness. The deceased had been a wife for about a year. She was the oldest daughter of the late Dr. Spottswood Wellford Carmichael. She was born and spent her life in Fredericksburg until her marriage. Her husband, two brothers Dr. Randolph B. Carmichael, of Washington, and C. B. Carmichael, of Philadelphia, and two sisters, Miss Nellie Carmichael and Miss Fannie Tucker Carmichael survive her.
