In this 1853 map of Loudoun County Virginia you can see the location of Peter Wirtz (1766-1852), son of Conrad and Maria Barbara Bentz Wirtz, property location, as marked by the red arrows. It is noted as P. Verts and P. Verts heirs. It appears to be about 1 to 1 1/2 miles south of Lovettsville, Virginia (marked by the green arrow) along what is today Route 287, Berlin Turnpike.

Notes - Peter is confirmed as the son of Conrad and Barbara through the New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church at Lovettsville, Virginia, parish register, 1784-1836. Under the baptism entry for Peters daughter, Margaretha, under the heading of "Parents", it reads, "Peter Wirtz (Conrad's son) and Christina".
1850 U.S. Census shows Peters place of birth as Pennsylvania
The date and place of Peter and Christina marriage is unknown as is Christina last name. It is believed they were married in Loudoun County sometime between 1789 adn 1790 as Conrad their first child was born in 1791. We know that Peter's wife was named Christina through the baptismal records of their children as listed in the New Jerusalem Evangeclical Lutheran Church register, 1784-1836.

Peter and his brother Adam sold three tracts of land from their fathers estate to Henry and Matilda Russell. The first tract consisted of 126 1/4 acres, the second 16 1/4 acres and the third was 27 acres. All the property was in Lodoun County. The deed, dated January 27, 1824 is recorder in Deed Book 3H. The sale prices was $5049.
