  Roanoke Times, July 8, 2011 Mabel M. Angell Wray, 85, of Wirtz, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Red Oak Manor. Mabel was born on August 18, 1925, the daughter of the late Jack G. and Josie Angell. She is survived by her loving husband, Windle T. Wray; sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Teresa Stamback, Mike and Joyce Stamback, Gary Wray, and Johnnie Wray; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Timmy Meador, Sandra Mills and Jay, and Lori Ann Wray; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Robert Sloan, Mattie Hartman, Ann Flowers, Hattie Moore, and Jackie Martin; mother-in-law, Vera Wray; sister-in-law and husband, Dawn and A.L. Self; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Many thanks to Patty Toler and the staff at Red Oak Manor for the wonderful care given. Funeral Services will be conducted from ConnerBowman Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011, with the Rev. Joe Dillon and Dr. Jackie Spence officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Friends may call after 3 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2011, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home and Crematory, Route 220 at Wirtz Road, Rocky Mount, Va., 540-334-5151.
