Charles was born in 1870 to James Madison Wix and Lydia Catherine Reed Virts. He died March 15, 1918 in West Virginia. He married Ida Catherine Constable on December 25, 1892. She was born March 13, 1873 in St. George, West Virginia and died November 28, 1962 in Keyser, West Virginia. Both are buried in Damon Cemetery, Newburg, West Virginia.

Keyser - Mrs. Ida Catherine Virts, 89, widow of Charles Virts, died last night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Nellie Hall, 76 D Street, following an illness of three weeks.
Born at St. George, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Ellen (Slater) Constable. A former resident of Newburg, she had lived with Mrs. Hall four years.
Also surviving are a son, Guy Virts, Newburg; two daughters, Mrs. Jessie Goff, Keyser, and Mrs. Daisy Moon, Newburg; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Sinclair Funeral Home, Newburg.
