      Robert M. "Buzz" Shuman, Jr., 85, formally of Shepherdstown passed away Sunday, April 5th, 2009 at his residence.

      Mr. Shuman was born in Mechanicsburg, on April 24, 1923, the son of the late Robert M. and Katherine (Zeigler) Shuman.

      Robert graduated from Mechanicsburg High School class of 1942 were he was a member of the 41 and 42 undefeated football team.

      He was a member of Grantham Brethren in Christ Church. He served in the US Marines as a Sgt. in WW II in the Pacific Campaign.

      He retired from DuPont Berg Electronics; Robert was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening, woodworking and watching Mechanicsburg High School Sports.

      He was the widower of Betty (Bubb) Shuman

      Robert is survived by a daughters: Wanda Shuman of Alexandria, 2 sons James Shuman of Denver CO, and Daniel Shuman of Dillsburg, 2 sisters Betty Bowersoxs of Mt Joy, and Catherine Brown of Seaford DE, 2 brothers: William Shuman of Camp Hill, and Don Shuman of Mechanicsburg, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

      There will be a viewing Thursday from 6 to 8 PM in the Myers Funeral Home of Mechanicsburg.
