- Diana Sue Chamblin, 71, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the VITAS Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524, with Reverend Terry Hodges officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday August 4, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Higginsville City Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Odessa, National Marfan Foundation or VITAS Hospice. Condolences for the family may be left at www.ralphojones.com or on our Facebook Page. Sue was born on February 22, 1943 in Higginsville, Missouri to Ivan Mortimer and Verna Belle (Board) Hackley. She was raised from birth by her maternal grandparents, Elmer William and Elizabeth Sue (Welliver) Stoll. Sue graduated from Corder High School in Corder, MO. On July 21, 1962 she was united in marriage to James Coleman Chamblin in Corder, MO. She spent her life as a homemaker taking care of her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa. When living in New York she oversaw the neighborhood Good News Club, Sue loved reading, playing piano, singing and spending time with her friends and family. In addition to her husband, Sue is survived by two children, Jacinda Claire Chamblin of Odessa, MO and James Christopher Chamblin of Kissimmee, Florida; a brother, Keith Ivan Hackley and wife Cyndi of Higginsville, MO; a sister, Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Duncan and husband Ron of Higginsville, MO; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and grandparents, Sue was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Kay Chamblin; a sister, Carlena G. (Stoll) Green and a brother Fred William Hackley.
