Eva Virginia Butler Morrison, age 92, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away peacefully, Friday, April 29, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family.
A funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home. Burial followed in Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester.
Mrs. Morrison was born April 19, 1919, the daughter of the late James Edward and Eunice Welch Butler.
Eva worked many years as a waitress for Quality Inn Hotel and Belle Boyd Restaurants. She was a member of the Front Royal Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 829. She was also known for her exquisite sewing and quilting skills.
Eva was survived by two sons, James W. Morrison and wife Brenda of Strasburg, and Ray A. Morrison and wife Sallie of Front Royal; her sister, Alice Rickard of Winchester; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Eva was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Morrison; her sister, Ada Mills; her two brothers, Lewis Butler and Francis Butler; her son, Lee S. Morrison; and her daughter-in-law, Margie.
The family received friends on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
The pallbearers were Charlie Butler, Richard Butler, Marlon Mills, Jimmy Alexander, Denny Hudson and David York.
Memorial contributions were made in her name to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601 or to your charity of choice.
