On Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, our beloved and cherished mother, Lorene Elizabeth Fifield, went home to be with her Lord and loved ones who went before her. She will be deeply missed always by her daughters, Barbara (Bronce) Plemens, Sandy (David) Carter and Phyllis (Mark) Hardy. Preceding her in death were her children, Billie Carrico, Jeanette Leavins, Ann Burden, Brenda Shouse and Rodney K. Shouse; and her late husband, Johnnie Fifield.

She was retired from Daviess County Hospital. She was a caregiver for many years for her other loved ones who passed away before her. She had a passion for growing flowers, especially irises. Her greatest love was being a loving and caring mother. Everyone who knew her loved her.

Her much-loved grandchildren are Patricia Hoover, Elisa Hoover, Bryan Burden, Jimmy Burden, Gary Means, Lori Beth Means, Lindsey Corley, Matthew Hardy, Brad Carter and the Rev. Jameson Neil Carter. Her great-grandchildren are Haley Means, Hannah Means, Emily Means, Lane Carter, Henry Carter, Harry Carter, Jack Hardy, Logan Burden and Rebecca Burden, and her cherished pet, Peanut.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Her grandson, the Rev. Jameson Neil Carter, will be giving her eulogy. The family wishes expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301-9989.
