  Palm Beach Post, December 29, 2001 Joyce C. Akers Age 73, passed away quietly and peacefully on December 26, 2001. Joyce had been an area resident for over 34 years. She retired as Superintendent's secretary from AG Holly State Hospital. She and her late husband Harry shared a passion for a good time in the Bahamas with Black Jack and the Slots. Joyce leaves to cherish her memory her loving family, two daughters Brenda and her children Brenda Jeanette, Brad Jr., Brooke, and Brandon and one special great-granddaughter Bryanna of Lake Worth, FL and Cathy and her children Tommy and Elizabeth of Loxahatchee, FL; son John (Suzie) Anderson and his son Tim of Denver, CO: Sister Caroline Crooker of Bucksport, ME. She also leaves many loved family and friends. Joyce is free at last to be with her beloved Harry who she was preceded in death by in 1996. A Memorial Service will be held today, December 29, 2001 at 3:00pm at Palms West Presbyterian Church located at 13689 Okeechobee Blvd., Loxahatchee, FL.
