Notes |
- Olympian, October 17, 2004
Born November 22, 1920 in Rowlesburg, West Virginia, our mother, "Mickie", 83 of Olympia, died of congestive heart failure on Wednesday, October 13, 2004. She is now at peace and joy in the presence of her God and King. We in her family miss her terribly, but she is in a better place.
Our mom grew up in a poor town on a farm with a single mom. She went to school early to start up the wood stove for others. In WWII she helped build planes for our country and has always been patriotic.
For many years she struggled against scleroderma, and a year ago she had several heart attacks. She was able to have her wish until the end; staying in her beloved home of almost 50 years with its millions of memories bringing up her six children.
Mother is survived by her children, James Menear, Carolyn Burns, Kay Menear, Marnie Cain, Michael Meriwether, and Pat Meriwether; her sister, Dot Cutsail; and her husband Frank Meriwether.
The family thanks Dr. Robert VandenBerg and his staff for their wonderful help over the past year.
Mother did not wish to have a service but would appreciate any memorial contributions go to The Scleroderma Foundation, 12 Kent Way, Suite 101, Byfield, MA, 01922.
