- Harold Lents died at 5:44 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. A resident of Loogootee, he was 71.
He was born July 10, 1940, in Whitfield; the son of Joseph P. and Esther (Christman) Lents. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee and a 1958 graduate of St. John's High School. He was a member of the Shoals Eagles, Loogootee Sons of the Legion and a former member of the Loogootee Knights of Columbus. He was retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane and was a former driver for Washington Senior and Family Services. Bud was an avid Notre Dame fan, enjoyed growing tomatoes, watching Indy and NASCAR racing and was a fan of Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
He is survived by his companion, Pamela Clark of Loogootee; three sons, Kevin and wife Sheila Lents of Loogootee, Kelly and wife Teresa Lents of Indianapolis, and Patrick Lents of Loogootee; two daughters, Kimberly and husband Steve Kidwell of Loogootee, and Kate Lents of Largo, Florida; one brother, Chick and wife Marilyn Lents of Washington; one niece, Dana Eichmiller of Corydon; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry Lents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 21 at St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. this evening, Wednesday, at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Online condolences may be made at www.brocksmithblakefuneralhomes.com.
