      LOOGOOTEE - Annabell (Blackwell) Queen, 82, of Loogootee died at 12:02 a.m. Thursday, March 13, at the Loogootee Nursing Center.

      Born May 13, 1920, in Martin County, she was the daughter of James and Fannie Jane (Neighbors) Blackwell. She married James Thomas Queen in 1942, and he preceded her in death in March 1969.

      She was Co-owner, with her husband James, of Queen Insurance Co., in Shoals for more than 25 years.

      She was a graduate of Shoals High School with the class of 1938, and she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shoals.

      Survivors include one daughter, Catherine A. Jones of Shoals; one son, J. Tucker Queen of Seminole, Fla.; three sisters, Louise Sargent of Bloomington, Ethel Radcliffe of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and June Warner of Loogootee; and two grandsons, Casey Jones and Corey Jones, both of Shoals.

      Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Queen-Lee Funeral Home of Shoals with Father Tom Kessler and Brother Randy Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Shoals. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
