      Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon from the Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg for Howard Cecil Lowe, 93, formerly of Bedington, who died last Friday in the Williamsport Nursing Home. The Rev. Keith Day and the Rev. William Rounsley officiated. Interment was in Rosdedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.

      He was born in Loudoun County, Va., Aug. 28, 1887, son of the late William H. and Mary Christine Virts Lowe.

      He was a longtime member of Bedington United Methodist Church, where he had been custodian for 30 years. For the past six years he attended Greens burg UM Church. He was a farmer for a number of years and for five years was employed by the former Berkley Woolen Company.

      His wife, Mrs. Mazie Hixson Lowe, whom he married April 8, 1911, preceded him in death September 27, 1968.

      Surviving are three children; a daughter Mrs. Floyd (Catherine) Small, Shepherdstown, with whom he had resided the past 6 ? years; two sons, Harry H. Lowe, and Robert l. Lowe, both of Martinsburg; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Rogers, Virginia Beach, Va.; one half-sister, Mrs. Nellie Buckley, Mount Rainer, Md. And number of nieces and nephews.

      Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
