Swanton - Earl Robert Virts, 67, RD 1, died Monday at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, where he had been a patient three days.
Mr. Virts was born in Swanton, a son of the late William H. and Mary C. (Herman) Virts. A cutting machine coal operator, he retired three years ago. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
His wife, the former Rosa Warnick, died last July.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Josephine Arbogast, Swanton, and Mrs. Ethel Chilcotte, Cairo, Ga.; four brothers, Stanley and William Virts, Swanton; James Virts, Keyser, and Rev. Stanton Virts, Alton, N.Y.; four sisters, Mrs. Edward Whitfield, Dawson; Mrs. Albert Goodwin, Swanton; Mrs. Piercy Bray, Baltimore, and Mrs. Louise Grove, Piedmont; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Boal Funeral Home, Wesernport, where friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held there tomorrow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Wayne L. Funkhouse officiating. Burial will be in Turner Cemetery, Swanton.
