WERTZ, Roy B., 66, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, April 19,1996 at Lewis Gale Hospital. He worked for Rowe Furniture Company for 21 years before going into shrubbery care service, and later became estate manager for Marion B. Via. He was a member of the Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, where he volunteered caring for plants and shrubbery. He also volunteered for the Bradley Free Clinic. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Jane T. Wertz; one son, Tony Wertz, Myrtle Beach, S. C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Doug Craighead, Salem; four sisters and brother-in-law, Edith Camper, Vinton, Sylvia Webb, Katherine Agee, both of Roanoke, Violet and L. P. Abell, Vinton; five grandchildren, Nichole Wertz, Hollie Craighead, Sean Wertz, Michael Craighead and Kayla Wertz. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 22, 1996, at 2 p.m. from the Lotz Salem Chapel, with the Rev. Ed Woodard and the Rev. Carl Zigler officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Church of the Brethren Stain Glass Window Fund. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Lotz Salem Chapel.
