Emory Joseph Virts was born October 19, 1907 in Lovettsville, Virginia to Charles Craven and Rose Ellen Shumaker Virts and died July 4, 1963 in Loudoun County, Virginia. He married Lorena Wenner. Lorena was born July 24, 1913 in Lovettsville, Virginia and died March 27, 1987 in Winchester, Virginia. Both are buried in the Union Cemetery in Lovettsville, Virginia.

Lorena Wenner Virts, 73, a former Purcellville resident, died March 27, at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Winchester. Born in Lovettsville on July 24, 1913, she was a daughter of Charles and Annie Rickard Wenner. Surviving are one son, Joe E. Virts of Cockeysville, Md.; two sisters, Arbutus Harding of Neersville and Ruth Pendley of Lovettsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery Joseph Virts; one son, Wesley A. Virts; and one daughter, Loretta Tritapoe. Interment was in the Union Cemetery, Lovettsville.
