Milton Junction - Mrs. Robert Davis, 72, died in her home on Clear Lake avenue at 4:45 a.m. today after a long illness. She was a patient in Mercy hospital in Janesville for a time.
Mrs. Davis, formerly Miss Flora Werts, was born Sept. 20, 1868 in Coshocton, O., but her family moved to Kansas when she was a child, and she was married to Mr. Davis of Eudora, Kan., Dec. 12, 1888. They celebrated their golden wedding in 1938.
Forty years ago they came to Wisconsin to make their home, and have lived in this vicinity since. For the past 23 years they lived in Milton Junction. Mrs. Davis was a member of the J. E. Coakley chapter of the Relief Corps, and of the King's Daughters, and was active in both as long as her health permitted.
Survivors are her husband, five daughters, Mrs. Minnie Martinson, Milton, Mrs. Nora Schultz and Blanche Schumacher, Janesville, Mrs. Pearl Schmidt, Edgerton, and Mrs. Bernice Campbell, Milton Junction; one son, Jesse Davis, Janesville; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Clayton Stonebraker, Emporia, Kan.; and two brothers, Harry Werts, Eudora, Kan., and Bert Werts, Larkin, Kan. Her parents, one sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held in the Gray and Albrecht funeral parlors at 2 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. D. Q. Grabill of the Milton Congregational church officiating. Burial will be in Milton Lawns cemetery, Janesville.
