CENTRAL, SC - Robert Harrison Abercrombie, 61, of Zion Circle, died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in a Pickens hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of Pickens County, son of the late David Harrison and Emma Bolding Abercrombie. He was retired from the maintenance department of the State Highway Department and was a member of Cannon Memorial Baptist Chaurch.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cora Lee Thompkins Abercrombie; a daughter, Mrs. Martha Emma Stone of Central; three sons, Robert Eugene and Charles William Abercrombie of Pickens, and Bobby Jo Abercrombie of Central; two sisters, Mrs. Etta A. Childress of Greenville and Mrs. June A. Winchester of Six Mile; two brothers, John Abercrombie of Easley and Henry Abercrombie of Six Mile; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Cannon Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. M. L. Boyce, the Rev. Earl Roach and the Rev. W. P. Lippart. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Don Winchester, Edward Childress, J. C., Cleo and Avery Galloway, and Morris, Leroy and Avery Abercrombie.
The body is at the home and will be taken to the church Wednesday at 2 p.m. Duckett Funeral Home is in charge.
