Deceased Name: Lois Laing ? Scottsdale, Ariz.
Lois Laing, 94, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Osceola, died Aug. 30, 2012, at Desert Flower Assisted Living in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be one hour prior to services Friday. Memorials may be directed to Clarke County Animal Shelter in Osceola or United Methodist Outreach Ministries, 3333 E. Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ 85008.
Lois Naomi Laing, daughter of Zella (Vinsel) and Leonard C. Goltry, was born May 19, 1918, in Russell.
Lois graduated from Russell High School. She also graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a teaching degree.
On Jan. 25, 1941, Lois married T.J. Laing in Maryville, Mo.
Lois and T.J. moved to Osceola in 1952. Lois was a math teacher at Clarke Community Junior High School for several years.
They were members of Osceola United Methodist Church.
Lois moved to Des Moines in 1988 and then moved to Scottsdale, Ariz., in 1996 to live near her daughter.
Lois is survived by her daughter Kay (husband Leon) Reed of Scottsdale, Ariz.; granddaughter Kelsey (husband Liam) Caulfield and great-granddaughter Alexia Caulfield of Phoenix, Ariz.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband in 1998; parents and two sisters.
