Benjamin was born January 5, 1851 in Point of Rocks, Maryland to Jacob Joseph and Ann Rebecca Mossburg Wirts, Jr. He died on April27, 1930 in Frederick, Maryland. He married Ida Bell Thompson on June 25, 1881. She was born on September 1860 and died September 9, 1907 in Frederick Maryland. Both are buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Maryland.

Mrs. Ida Belle Virts, wife of Benjamin T. Virts, died this morning at 3:45 o'clock at her home, 8 Wisner Street, of tuberculosis, in the 4?sup?7th ?/sup?year of her age. She is survived by her husband and six children; Mrs. J. L. Druen, of Beckley, W. Va., Eugene, Ada, Eloise, Bernard and Norma, at home; also by her mother, Mrs. M. O. Thompson, who resides with her daughter, Mrs. J. F. Davis, of this city. Five brothers and two sisters; Mrs. W. L. Virts, of Point of Rocks; Herman M., of Brunswick; Robert B. and William B., of Ellicott City; Frank E. of Monrovia; Leroy Thompson, of Mt. Airy, and Mrs. J. F. Davis of this city. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church. The funeral will take place from her late home on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
