WILLIAM J. CLINGERMAN, 77, of Columbia City, died Friday, June 2, 2006 at Parkview Hospital. He was born on August 22, 1928 in Noble County the son of William and Irene (Heintzelman) Clingerman-Magnuson. He married Mildred E. Hyndman on May 26, 1951 in Jeffersonville, Ind. He has spent his lifetime in Whitley County, living at his current home near Lorraine, since 1956. He was first employed by Creighton Brothers, Warsaw, where he broke horses and was employed by General Electric, Fort Wayne, for 30 years as a machine operator. He enjoyed playing the guitar and loved horses. He is survived by one son, Fred C. (Helen) Goshert, Syracuse, IN; two daughters, Suann H. (Glen) Pollitt, Columbia City, and Irene D. Maggard, Sevierville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; five sisters, Joan Marks, Ohio, Ruth Douglas of Ormas, Nancy Wright, Panama City, Fla, Dixie Nei, Columbia City, and Mary K. (Budd) Walls of Warsaw; two brothers, Donald Clingerman, San Bernadino, Calif. and Tony (Janice) Clingerman, Kimmell, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mildred E. Clingerman, who passed away on January 15, 1991 and one brother, Benny F. Clingerman. Services is 10 a.m. on Tuesday, at DeMoney - Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam, Noble County. Memorial gifts may be given in Mr. Clingerman's memory to Shriner's Hospitals for Crippled Children, 211 North Oak Park Avenue, Chicago, IL 60635. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
