- Elizabeth A. (Echterling) Pierce, 91 of Stanberry, Missouri passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015 at her home.
She was born October 31, 1923 in Adaza, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Caroline Echterling. She and her parents lived on a farm near Adaza and moved to Missouri when she was 5 years old. She attended Wilson School near Montrose, Missouri. The family later moved to Stanberry, where Elizabeth graduated from Stanberry High School.
Elizabeth married Lester E. Pierce on August 30, 1942. To this union two children were born, Gary L. Pierce and Sharon Lynn Pierce.
They farmed in the Hugginsville Community, until they moved to Buena Park, California, later moving to Brea and back to Stanberry in 1969.
Elizabeth was an Elvis fan, magnet collector and loved to read and especially write letters. Elizabeth had a passion to help people. She attended the Darlington Baptist Church until her health failed. She was baptized in Brea, California Baptist Church and has been able to keep in touch over the years with her California friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lester on November 15, 2014 and her children, Gary and Sharon.
Elizabeth is survived by her angels, Carma and Phillip Peery; Whitney and Gentry Woodward; Kathy and Tom Lee; first cousins and a special cousin, Joyce; sister-in-law, Lorene Mathews and aunt, Margot Folgate.
Memorial Graveside Service will be held at a later date. The body has been cremated. Memorial Contributions-Mosaic Life Care Hospice in care of the Roberson-Polley Chapel, 403 N. Hundley, Albany, MO 64402.
