      Mrs. Linda Simms

      Linda M. Simms, 68, of The Woods in Hedgesville, died July 3, 2006 at her residence while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

      Born July 8, 1937 in Brunswick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Richard M. Magalis and Eva Funk Magalis.

      Mrs. Simms was a graduate of Salisbury State Teachers College and taught for eight years in Frederick County, Md. She was always an advocate of youth school activities and volunteered for 19 years at the Fine Arts Department of Glenelg High School, Glenelg, Howard County, Md.

      Mrs. Simms is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charles A. Simms and two sons, Brian M. Simms of Catonsville, Md., and Eric C. Simms of Columbia, Md.

      --A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 7, 2006 at The Hedges Chapel in the Woods with the Rev. Jack Vineyard officiating.

      Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25401 and/or the Children's Cancer Fund, P.O. Box 658, Millwood, NY 10546.
