  Times Pcayune, September 15, 1999 Rita Verdi McKinney, a retired executive secretary at Blue Cross of Louisiana, died Friday of heart failure at her home. She was 78. Mrs. McKinney was born in New Orleans and lived in Ponchatoula for the past 12 years. She was a parishioner of St. Anselm Catholic Church in Madisonville and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked for Blue Cross for more than 30 years. Survivors include a daughter, Maureen F. McKinney; and a sister, Kathy V. Masilla of Metairie. A Mass will be said Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Anselm Catholic Church in Madisonville. Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
