    • JoAnn M. Hare, 79, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Aug. 1, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes. She was born Nov. 26, 1933, in Waterloo, daughter of David R. and Katherine E. Brause Yarrington. She married Lawrence R. Hare on April 26, 1952, at First Wesleyan Church, Waterloo. He died April 14, 2011. Mrs. Hare was a secretary for the Title 1 program with the Waterloo Schools for 27 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Cedar Valley Community Church.

      She is survived by: a daughter, Denise "Dee Dee" Hare of Waterloo; two sisters, Evelyn Brandt of Cedar Falls and Marlys Walker of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister-in-law, Sally Jo Yarrington of Waterloo; and special friends, Bernie and Judy Manley of Waterloo.

      She is preceded in death by: her husband, two sons, Larry J. and Jim A. "Jimmy"; four brothers, David, Ralph "Bill," Robert and George Yarrington; and two sisters, Donna Petersen and Frances Yarrington.
