- He was a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force 1966-1968.
He was flying an A-37 as a spray plane escort near Rang Rang, 30 some miles northeast of Bien Hoa, Vietnam. When the spray plane came under fire he attacked the gun position. On his third pass he was hit by ground fire and he crashed near the gun site.
