William Stanley Sheppard, Sr., 52, a construction superintendent in the Washington area since 1932, died Friday at his home, 8 Peony drive, Gaithersburg, Md.
Mr. Sheppard was with the Linco Construction Co., Inc., and before that was a construction superintendent with the G. F. Mikkelson and Parkhill construction companies. He helped build St. Johns Episcopal Church in Bethesda and to remodel Stone Ridge School there.
Mr. Sheppard was born in Chevy Chase, Md., and was educated in Cleveland, Ohio. He was with his father, William Franklin Sheppard, in the building business in Atlanta, Ga., returning to Montgomery County in 1932. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Gaithersburg.
Survivors are his widow, Anna; two sons, William Stanley Sheppard, Jr., 536 Brent road, Rockville, Md., property and insurance office for Montgomery County; William Ermon Sheppard, Bethesda; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Franklin Sheppard; a brother, Milburn, Brunswick, Ga., and two sisers, Mrs. G. H. Schryver, Cleveland, and Mrs. E. F. Luna, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Services were to be held at 2 p.m. today at Gartners funeral home in Gaithersburg with burial in Forest Oak Cemetery there.
