Nancy Jo (Virts) MENGE Was born January 24, 1938 in Urbana, Ohio to Olive Louise (Kearfoot) and Marion Theodore Virts. Growing up in Springfield, Ohio, she played in the Springfield Youth Symphony Orchestra. She attended Miami University completing her undergraduate work at Wittenberg University and attaining her Masters Degree at Ohio State University. She taught Mathematics in both Ohio and Seattle. In the eighteen years prior to her retirement, she enjoyed a successful career in the Operations, Auditing and System Development areas of Banking. After retirement, she divided her time between her Seattle and Urbana, Ohio homes. She applied her skills designing and developing computer programs to help our Senior Citizen Centers manage their complex reporting. Her programs won national recognition for their usefulness. Jo, to her many Seattle friends, enjoyed music, traveling, reading, gardening in her Sand Point Pea Patch, playing bridge, and honing her already expert skills in needlepoint and quilting. Jo died the weekend of January 24th, the 66th anniversary of her birth. She is survived by Ohio Cousins, Marjorie (Virts) Kauffman, Martha (Virts) Donohoe, Charles Richard Virts, James Phillip Virts, Phyllis Jane (Virts) Stimmel, and longtime friend, Norma Titus. Remembrances may be made to the American Diabetes Association. A Memorial Service will be held in Mechanicsburg, Ohio at a later date with internment at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
