    • The following information has been graciously provided by Jeanie Virts LaGrave.

      Served in World War II in Germany and Northern France, EAME Theater. He was inducted March 9, 1944 at New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. During his tour of duty he received a World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, EAME Theater Ribbon and Two Bronze Service Stars. He was discharged January 6, 1946.

      Mr. Virts was fatally injured in a tractor accident on Monday afternoon, June 22, 1959.

      Leon Junior Virts, 37, who was fatally injured in a tractor accident Monday afternoon, was son of Emory Leon and Bertha Cutsail Virts, Adamstown. He attended the Assembly of God church, Shookstown.

      Surviving besides his parents are his wife, Mrs. Mildred Louise Tyeryar Virts; three children, Roland Virts, Adamstown; Bonnie and Marvin Virts, at home; two step-children, Barbara Hardman, at home and John W. Hardman, Jr., U.S. Navy, New Orleans, La.; two brothers, Robert Virts, Adamstown and Ralph Virts, Knoxville. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

      The body is at the funeral home, 106 East Church street, where friends may call after 7 o'clock this evening. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Mt. Olivet cemetery. M. R. Etchison and Son, funeral directors.
