      KEYSER, WV-Fredric Melvin Eichhorn, 82, of Route 1, Fort Ashby Road, Keyser, died Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Allegany Nursing Home, Cumberland, MD.
      Born May 16, 1932 in Frostburg, MD he was the son of the late Frederick M. and Elizabeth (Melvin) Eichhorn.

      He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jean Lynn (Barr) Eichhorn in 2006.
      Mr. Eichhorn was a graduate of Beall High School, class of 1950. He received both bachelors and masters degrees from Frostburg State College and was an elementary school teacher at Mt. Savage and Westernport schools from 1962 ? 1993.

      He was a member of the Church of The Assumption, Keyser and Knights of Columbus, Assumption Council 10545, Keyser and Chief Justice Taney Assembly, 4th Degree, Knights of Columbus, Cumberland and the Maryland Retired Teachers Association.
      Fredric was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

      He is survived by one son F. William Eichhorn and wife Aida of Baltimore, MD.
      There will be no public viewings.

      A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, Keyser on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. William K. Matheny, Jr. as celebrant.
      Interment will follow in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
