Joseph Lewis Hackley, 82, died at his home in Sandy Hook on March 20 after a long illness. A son of the late Alphus J. and Elizabeth Russell Hackley, he was born in Loudoun County, Va., on Nov. 30, 1881. He was a retired B and O Railroad employee.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Maizie Greenwalt Hackley of sandy Hook; two sons, Howard W. Hackley of Silver Spring, and Joseph L. Hackley, Jr. of Alexandria, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Jackson of Washington, D.C. and Mrs. Maude Devers of New Windsor; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Daisy Darr, of Brunswick, and one brother, James Hackley of Loudoun Heights, Va. The body was at the late home in sandy Hook, after 11 a.m. Sunday.
Funeral services were held on Monday, from the Sandy hook Methodist Church, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Braden officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery in Loudoun Heights, Va.
