      Mr. Ralph Carey

      Mr. Ralph Franklin Carey, 70, of Knoxville, died on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 14, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of 49 years of Margaret Regina Bassford Carey.

      Born at Point of Rocks, on Oct. 31, 1934, Mr. Carey was a son of the late Edward C. and Katherine M. Kanode Carey. Mr. Carey had been employed for 16 years with the Frederick Coca-Cola Company, later with Dairy Maid in Frederick, and was retired from Rudy Transportation, Frederick. He was a lifelong member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Doubs.

      Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Daphne G. Maught and husband Charles of Jefferson; three sons, Allen Carey of Braddock Heights, Randall E. Carey of Frederick, and Vincent Carey of Jefferson; and three grandchildren, Andrew Maught, Matthew Maught and Danielle Maught, all of Jefferson. Also surviving are three brothers, E. Carlton Carey and wife Gladys, Douglas E. Carey and wife Helen, and Roland D. Carey and wife Gloria, all of Frederick; and a number of nieces and nephews.

      The family will receive friends at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, on Wednesday, Aug. 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 18, at 10 a.m. from the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Marina C. Flores, pastor of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Doubs, will officiate.

      Pallbearers will be Allen Carey, Randall E. Carey, Vincent Carey, Charles Maught, Andrew Maught and Matthew Maught.

      Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Md.
