Leta Mae Hills, the only daughter of Carl Walter Roberts and Alma Julia Zimmer, was born in Lucas County May 27, 1893, and departed from this life August 20, 1980 at South Community Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla., following a congestive coronary arrest in Edmond, Okla.
Leta's parents moved to Nebraska while she was a young child but nine years later returned to the Russell vicinity. Upon completion of her education, Leta taught in the rural schools of Lucas County.
On Dec. 21, 1918 she united in marriage with Stephen Randall Wright. To this union one son, Carl Henry, was born. Four years later Dec. 17, 1922, Stephen passed away.
In 1925 Leta married Dr. R. A. Hills of Russell. To this marriage one daughter was born, now Marjorie Mae Edwards of Edmond, Okla. Dr. Hills preceded his wife in death in 1950.
