    Robert Hackley was born May 15, 1884 in Loudoun County Virginia to Alpheus Jackson Hackley and Elizabeth Russell. He died August 23, 1952 in Loudoun Heights Virginia. He married Rose Belle Speaks who was born March 3, 1887 in Loudoun County Virginia and died September 9, 1975 in Leesburg, Virginia.

      Robert Hackley, aged 68 years, of Loudoun County, Va., near Harpers Ferry, W. Va., died at the home of his son-in-law, Melvin Cogle last Saturday morning after a long illness. He was the son of the late Alpha Jackson Hackley and Elizabeth Russell Hackley.

      Surviving is his widow, Mrs. Rose Speaks Hackley; one son, Elmer at home; and five daughters, Mrs. Lester Virts, Mrs. Raymond Virts and Mrs Leroy Virts, all of near Purcellville, Va., Mrs. Sam Jenkins of Falls Church, Va., and Mrs. Melvin Cogle at whose home he died. Two sisters and three brothers also survive: Mrs. Daisy Darr of Brunswick, Mrs. Jane Shumaker, of Loudoun County; Joseph Hackley of Sandy Hook, and Clarence and James Hackley of Loudoun County. The deceased was born in that section of Virginia and spent his entire line there. Funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Ebenezer Methodist church in Loudoun County with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
