She married Howard William Gosnell who was born August 31, 1901 and died January 7, 1958 in Baltimore, Maryland. Her son Millard was born January 11, 1922 in Knoxville, Maryland and died Jun 6, 1981 in Winchester, Virginia. Lillian and Howard are buried in the Reformed Cemetery in Knoxville, Maryland. Millard is buried in the Union Cemetery in Lovettsville.

Mrs. Lillian Ruth Gosnell, wife of Howard W. Gosnell, Sr., New Addition, Brunswick, died early Wednesday morning at Frederick Memorial Hospital, aged 50 years. She was a daughter of Oscar F. Virts and the late Mary Catherine Mann Virts. Surviving are her father and husband, three children: Mrs. Evelyn B. Ambrose, Knoxville; Millard E. Gosnell, Washington, and Howard W. Gosnell, Jr., at home; these brothers and sisters: Bud Mann, Russell Virts, Theodore Virts, Raymond Virts and Lester Virts all of near Lovettsville, Va., Mrs. God Stone, Purcellville, and Mrs. Jessie Frye, Lovettsville. Interment was in the Reformed Cemetery, Knoxville.
