  Below information was added by Judy Johnson on the "Find A Grave" memorial website. John Harvey "Johnnie" was my (Judy Johnson) Maternal Great Grandfather. He was born in the Orkney Islands of Scotland and emigrated to the US in 1868 on the Steamship Caledonia at age 19 years. He was the son of James & Mary Ann (Johnston) Flett and was 1 of 12 children. One of his older brothers, Alexander, had already emigrated to the US, so Johnnie joined him in Missouri. Johnnie was a master carpenter, a joiner who could fit pieces of wood together perfectly and for lasting stability. It was reported that some of his buildings in Dent Co. are still standing. He married Arena Weltha Barnes in 1877 in Rolla, MO, and they had 5 children: Minnie, Grace-(Mrs. Elmer Kell), Maude, Anna, and James Harvey-(m: Daisie E. Capps).
